	Evelyn Simons is a curator and writer based in Brussels. Her practice operates on the intersection between site-specific art commissioning, transdisciplinary collaboration and developing discursive activities. She is particularly interested in facilitating artistic experiment by working at the crossroads between art, nightlife, music, architecture, performance and fashion, initiating collaboration between creatives from various fields.&#38;nbsp;From 2018 till 2023, she led the art programme at Horst Arts &#38;amp; Music - an initiative blending contemporary art, architecture and electronic music on an abandoned military site in the Brussels’ periphery. Prior to that, she was affiliated with Fondation CAB, a private foundation for Minimal art in Brussels and St. Paul-de-Vence, where she curated various exhibitions and set up a residency programme.&#38;nbsp;
 She is laureate of Curate Award by Fondazione Prada &#38;amp; Qatar Museums (2014), as a result of which she curated “Driftwood, or how we surfaced through currents” (2017) in Athens, as well as “The Never Never”, an ongoing modular project consisting of a short movie, a marketing campaign and an itinerant exhibition with artist Jeremy Hutchison. 
Evelyn curated exhibitions in Luxemburg, Germany, France, Greece and Belgium; produced two short films; and has worked out development strategies for artistic organisations. She holds an MA in Art History (University Ghent) and a Postgraduate in Curatorial Studies (KASK Ghent). She was curator-in-residence at Beirut Art Residency (Lebanon, 2015), at Villa Lena (Italy, 2022) and currently at HIAP Helsinki with Frame (Finland, 2024).&#38;nbsp;Evelyn currently oversees several permanent commissions in public space for the Flemish Government (BE). 
She is the co-founder of RendezVous - Brussels Art Week; kicking off its first edition in September 2024.&#38;nbsp;

These Branching Moments brings together six artists, Amari, Tosh Basco, Juliana Huxtable, Jim C. Nedd, Rebecca Salvadori, and Kajol Singh, who work between the spheres of visual arts and electronic music.

Through photography and video, these artists explore questions of belonging and how it takes shape in today’s world: Where can we feel safe and find community? How and where can we express ourselves authentically? Moving between art and music, day and night, the participating artists envision temporary worlds that suspend the micro- and macro-aggressions of everyday life.

 The exhibition finds refuge in the night as a space for experimentation, freedom, and imagination, with the artists resisting a world that increasingly imposes control. They do this by creating elusive, ever-changing moments where complexity and mystery are allowed to exist. Featuring contributions from diverse communities – from experimental electronic musicians and queer strippers of colour to performance artists and Caribbean youth at mass gatherings – the exhibition reveals how like-mindedness, freedom, and solidarity can be found in the shadow zones of normative society.

Together with curator Evelyn Simons and inspired by the artists’ work, the designers of Espace Aygo have conceived a sensorial and immersive scenography for the exhibition, while Atelier Brenda is responsible for the graphic design. Step into a world where art and music cross-pollinate, and where the night is celebrated as fertile ground for resistance and renewal.

Invisible alliances, under the skin of reality presents seven pairs of bronze hands that embody Depot Rato's vocation: to preserve, maintain and care for Mechelen's rich heritage collection. mountaincutters gave shape to these gestures of care, by observing the how the team of conservators, staff and volunteers handle, clean and restore objects. The bronze hands themselves were left open, allowing for fragments of our own memories to fill in the gaps, and to question what it is that we take care for. 

mountaincutters is a French artist duo (°1990) from Brussels. Their multidisciplinary installations exist as temporary ecosystems in which energy is channelled between human, organic and inanimate entities. They are in a constant state of transformation and are subject to natural phenomena, symbolising how we are always together with the world and with others, thus being more than just ourselves.

	Where the wild things are pays tribute to those that define urban spaces, to those that make cities livable and alive, those that soften the hard edges of our imposed built environment with their presence. We’re talking about citizens, temporary visitors and communities often shunned by city councils, project developers and urban planners. We shine a light on, and celebrate exactly those energies which we usually don't see reflected in the sleek renderings of the so-called "cities of tomorrow". 

We look for inspiration in the underbelly of our urban fabric; where the energy vibrates, breathing life into a city. Where the wild things are brings an ode to DIY, unregulated but indispensable forms of community-life and creativity, to disobedience and disruption, to those operating outside the calibrated paths of organized consumer-focused public life.A video work by Sicilian artist Elisa Giardina Papa follows a gang of teenage tuners as a modern interpretation of a traditional Sicilian legend, reflecting on disruption and mythological womanhood. The Brussels-based Angolan-Zambian artist Maria Muehombo AKA M I M I suspended a garden made from organic matter and paintings to foster forgotten alliances with natural energies. We also encounter a nightshop by the iconic Ghent-based label DEEWEE: a replica of one of the most underrated spaces of contemporary city life.British artist Mark Leckey created a dark and sticky setting, dominated by a large-scale new video work where a foreboding seascape meets a candy-coloured sky. Centrally on the Asiat military base, we erected a permanent monument allowing visitors to cool down thanks to an integrated ancestral air-cooling system, which Belgian artist Sharon Van Overmeiren developed together with Instituut Voor Volkswarmte.French artist Marc Leschelier explored formal improvisation through dysfunctional architecture in a pavilion with scaffolding and draped concrete, tucked in the garden of Asiat Kiosk. During the Horst festival, Lebanese artist Joe Namy fostered a gathering of car-tuners at the festival grounds, which has been translated into a physically pulsating art installation for the exhibition. A pre-existing circular pavilion was transformed into an immersive ship by the Greek fashion and art collective SERAPIS, working with repurposed truck tarp and big bags to hint at the logistic journeys and the hidden labor of our hyper connected globalized society. A chapter from Moroccan artist Meriem Bennani’s iconic Life on the Caps further explores dissidence and disobedience as vital and necessary forms of citizenship in a futuristic video. Finally, Emirati artist Farah Al Qasimi developed a glowing musical garden with flowers and outdoor music instruments, sprouting as an invitation for children and adults to engage with the melodies of the park and the local plant life.&#38;nbsp;
